Damn. Nice Medfords.
Soon as you laid them down I picked that fake it is not hard to tell.
What if they used the same material, is it still considered as fake?
Great information on these knifes.
If you guys like this style of lighters Colibri has their version named "Julius". It has a double flame burner like the newer S.T. DuPont's, a fuel window, and it sells for $135 retail
How have I never heard of this guy?
Are you still getting more Medford knives?
Does the 007 use yellow gas?
Beautiful A+ Amazing !
bro had 3 grand to spare for lighters that will never be used for their purposes 💀
How to tell us that you can own them, that you dont like them but still need to own them. Self stupid*d murican sh*t
Will I need an adapter for the vintage cartier butane lighter?
Who's anyone to tell us what value we should place on the things that bring us joy? That's a grail knife if I ever heard of one. I wonder what your collection looks like now.
I'm sorry, but i don't appreciate Chinese made. Maybe I'm wrong, but i don't really care.
i like the non real one better!!!!!!😅
Fake stuff is okay as long as you don't pass it as the genuine thing.
I have a 146 oblique nib. Great pen
I had the Chinese Version. First Impressions very good. Unfortunately after 12 months the lighter broke down. Repair impossible. Therefore i would‘t buy anymore
You can repair them. Tools are sold to open them up and all you do is replace the seals and you're done.
Basically fakes became so good . Y dont they just make their own beand and sell them for less?
They actually do, there's a Chinese brand named Derui that essentially makes St. Dupont clones with their own brand name
@@IMarcoMI thanks . I'll check it out )
Not sure if Montblanc offers support any longer. Years ago they would do a lot of repairs for free. Not sure that is the case any more. I dropped my bordeaux ballpoint on a hard surface and severely splintered the whole top. Sent it in and it came back with a new top at no charge. Of course this is back in the day when $100 would get you a brand new ballpoint, now it takes $400+ to get the same pen.
Thanks
I think one of the HUGE differences between the real and the fake is going to be how thick the gold layer is on the lighter. A real ST Dupont (and I have several) can be carried in your pocket along side your keys or change. It will get dinged and pick up scratches but it takes YEARS of hard core use to wear through the gold. I would imagine the Chinese knock offs will wear through quickly. I love the PING too though! I'm with you!
The question is. Stills working? If it does, there's no reason to get a original one.
The real ones only have a 2 year warranty. Fake ones just need to replace the o ring seals and are ready to roll.
Bai Lan Let It Rot 摆烂 Buy S.T. Dupont !!
I will get a ZIPPO
Excellent video. I share your enthusiasm about Medford knives and the incredible craftsmanship. I would also agree with your general evaluation and ratings. My regular EDC rotation finds the Slim Medi (tanto and clip point ) more conductive to urban carry- I live in a beach community in SoCal. Yes, we have to be careful not "to whip one out" in public ! Thank you.
Vince Vaughn reviewing lighters awesome
Hes the wat,?the victim?shit that thief got the knife and and and his money back, hell you are the victim brother
Yes like daid on your last video i think he has the knife,if not he sold it ,thats fd up so sorry you had to go through that shit brother, dam thieves
Man he probably does have that knife, shit jst sounds sus
Man I never will buy a $900 lighter no matter how cool I think it is. It’s a lighter and I cannot justify it. So no I’m not taking anyone’s job by buying a clone. I was never going to get an ST DuPont in the first place. I saw it and thought “cool, can’t ever imagine buying one….”. And moved on. Until one day I thought “OH! I bet someone makes inspired fake duponts! I wonder if they’re affordable” and decided to take a look.
i know this video is from long ago , but looking at your top box its a box for a fountain pen in lacquer finish
Knives for a ?guy? that wouldn't know how to use one if his gerbils life depended on it.
Thanks for sharing this story. This needs to be made into a movie. Lol . Nice beginning good guy selling knives. Scum bag scams person. Other scum bag's get involved. But in the end a hero comes and saves the good guy. And all the scum bags knives go dull for ever. The end
This pos is a scammer. That's why he thinks the way he does. He wanted more knives but didn't have all the money for the first one. Lol . Lucky for all the honest people out there. Dude's like him get to live a miserable life as pay back. Stay honest
Hey bro I just came across your video. I was told something a long time ago. Not everyone thinks like you . Your a stand up man. That's why you didn't think about the signature or what if it was stolen. And that's why he did. Food for thought. Stay honest and true. And you will come out ahead.
Thanks for the video. I have a lot of knives. I just got my tenth Medford. Some of them won't ever cut anything but a nice steak. I guess I'm crazy that way. But for me it's just a good feeling to have a Medford in my pocket . I use my other knives to cut things. Nice video
Great video
For what it’s worth, you are comparing two different models. They are both ligne2 diamond head but have slightly different designs to the part where the Dupont logo is so the counterfeit is probably even better than you think
Hey man I just found your channel I see you haven’t posted in a bit but damn you have a hell of a collection sir!!!
Actually you should strike it using your index finger.. not thumb. And you need to reverse it first.
Great collection ❗💯🔥👍
This is the most beautiful knife! I’m in love. Let me know if you would ever put it up for adoption :) 😍
The serial number on some of the new ones are laser engraved now.
Pretty sure Greg would help you out with any issues with the knives you are saying are "out of warranty". I think that is more of an "if you mess it up while taking it apart, we won't fix it for free" type clause.
The ping says nothing if your buying second hand. I have 2 Dupont lighters A slim one ( actually womans model ) and the Chine red laqure. However I have had them for many years ...both of them the ping is now very dull. Of course if I got it serviced it would have the original sound back. The serial numbers are a tell, 4FK I believe is common fake. The original serial number should not be in one line and some numbers maybe fainter or hit harder in to the lighter. This because the serial numbers are hand stamped. The serial numbers are also sometimes hard too see on the lighter. As for the fakes it very bold. Wonderful lighter you got there. Love your MontBlanc skywalker pen too. :D
I've heard people say the same thing about the ping but I have seen a lot of demo videos and the ping is not the same pitch on different line 2 lighters. So I do not think that is a reliable way to tell the difference. The best way would be a materials test but outside of that the rounded edges and the serial number stamp seem to be the most reliable things to look at. I think it is something like cuban cigars. There are many good quality fake bands these days but it has to do with looking at multiple features and having experience. I just purchased my first line 2 today in palladium and plan to continue to use my fake outside of special occasions. I cannot afford to scuff up a $2000cad lighter. I want it to be in mint condition when I eventually pass it down to my kids or grandkids. Cheers!
Ryu is my absolute favorite. Someday. Someday.
Branding is for snobs. If the product is similar quality i dont care about the brand... i will chose cheaper.
I just received my micro T and I love it. I wear a suit everyday and it is excellent in my pocket.
A micro T in a suit? Hell yeah.
